Q: How does this program work with a participant's existing education?
A: Our program is for those individuals who have completed their formal education.
ABLED's Job Training Program is open to:
If requested, ABLED staff are available to attend the student's IPP (Individual Program Plan). ABLED staff will maintain a close contact with family, school site staff, transportation staff and Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) staff in order to maintain a continuum of services.
ABLED's Job Training Program is open to:
- Individuals who are at least 18 years of age who have graduated high school with a diploma;
- Young adults with a disability who are at least 22 years of age who have graduated from a transitional school with their certificate of completion

Q: How long do people participate in ABLED?
A: There is no set timeframe; our clients are welcome to be in our program(s) as long as there is space and a willingness to attend! However, it is expected that most clients will remain in our program for 18-24 months, on average.
Q: How much direct supervision does ABLED provide?
A: The program is staffed with a Program Coordinator, Program Director, as well as Instructional Aides and volunteers. There is one trained staff member for every 6 participants (6:1 ratio).
Q: What are the typical disabilities of the ABLED participants?
A: Our focus is to determine how we can best support each client and their abilities. The activities in the ABLED programs are geared towards promoting the social and emotional development of all participants, with a goal of improving independent living skills and developing employable skills. Activities are both structured and freeform. At ABLED we emphasize developing positive relationships with peers and throughout the community.
